How do I tell an STB fault from a cable fault without visiting?

మూడు ప్రశ్నలు — ఫోన్ లోనే అడగండి:
1️⃣ STB మీద light వెలుగుతుందా? → లేదంటే అది adaptor/power వైపు.
2️⃣ TV మీద 'No Signal' వస్తుందా, లేక STB menu కనిపిస్తుందా? → Menu కనిపిస్తే box బాగుంది, feed problem.
3️⃣ పక్కింట్లో వస్తుందా? → వస్తే ఈ ఇంటి drop cable, రాకపోతే line/node.
ఈ మూడు సమాధానాలతో technician ఏం పట్టుకెళ్ళాలో ముందే తెలుస్తుంది.

Three checks you can do over the phone: (1) Is the light on the STB lit? No light means power/adaptor, not cable. (2) Does the TV show 'No Signal', or does the STB menu appear? If the menu appears, the box is fine and it's the feed. (3) Is the neighbour getting signal? If yes, it's this house's drop cable; if no, it's the line or node. Those three answers tell the technician what to carry before he leaves.
