The MSO's active count doesn't match my register. How do I reconcile?

MSO count = ఆ క్షణంలో system లో active ఉన్న boxes.
మీ register = మీరు bill చేస్తున్న subscribers.
తేడా ఎక్కువగా ఇక్కడ నుంచి వస్తుంది:
• Deactivate అయినా register లో ఉండిపోయినవి
• ఒకే ఇంట్లో రెండో box — మీ దగ్గర ఒక entry, system లో రెండు
• Cut-off తేదీ తేడా — మీరు నెలాఖరు, వాళ్ళు వేరే రోజు
STB ID వారీగా పోల్చండి, మొత్తం numbers పోల్చొద్దు. Totals ఎప్పటికీ match అవ్వవు, ID list అవుతుంది.

Count disputes between an operator and their MSO are almost always definitional rather than dishonest, and they stay unresolved because both sides argue about a single total. A total is a summary of two different definitions applied at two different moments, so it cannot be reconciled by discussion. An ID-level comparison converts an argument into a list: boxes they show and you don't, boxes you show and they don't. Each list has a specific cause and a specific fix, and the exercise usually takes an afternoon once rather than a phone call every month.
